How to begin

Want to get started building? And you don't know where to start?

If you want to start building furniture & other awesome things for your house, here is a list of tools that I have. You don't need all of them at first, I would recommend maybe at least getting the first 2 items if you are on a tight budget. You can get these two tools without spending a ton of money & you will be able to use them for other uses around your house. For projects that require angled cuts, you can purchase a Miter Box with a hand saw for under $20.

You can find different price points & variations of these tools at your local home improvement store. The Kreg Jig is an amazing tool that makes building furniture so much easier; it doesn't split the wood & creates stronger joints. Warning: Once you start building it becomes so addictive, I can't stop!
  • Ryobi 18-volt Lithium Ion Drill
  • Kreg Jig -Pocket Hole Master System
  • Ryobi 10" Sliding Compound Miter Saw
  • Ryobi Air Strike Nail gun
  • Ryobi Corded 7 1/4 Circular Saw
  • Ryobi Sander
I have labeled each project on my blog with "Skill Levels", so pick a beginner & go for it!

* I have learned so much from going to both of these amazing websites: http://ana-white.com & http://www.shanty-2-chic.com/ I also just figured it out as I built more things!
